Air Borne Sensitivity - NVH Engineer

Position Duties:
Vehicle Sensitivity development focused on air-borne acoustic transfer path analysis and improvement from concept through launch for unibody/BOF platform vehicles.
Develop air-borne acoustic transfer path targets and target cascade for future unibody/BOF platform vehicles.
Lead root cause investigations into air-borne road and powertrain related issues in physical prototypes and plant builds.
Support investigations into air-borne road and powertrain issues in analytical models.
Work with Design and Release partners to design Body System content including Sound Package, Trim Panels, Sheet Metal and Sheet Metal Treatments, Glass, Body Exterior Shielding as required to meet sensitivity targets.
Support and/or lead new and ongoing Process, Standards and Methods.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Sciences or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Body Systems including Sound Package, Trim Panels, Sheet Metal, Sheet Metal Treatments, Glass or Body Exterior Shielding.
NVH knowledge or experience as it relates to acoustics, vibration or noise.
Knowledge of acoustic analytical tools.
Lab or on-road based data acquisition and analysis tool experience.
Strong communication skills and interpersonal relation skills.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Acoustics and/or Vibrations and/or a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
5 years or more of automotive experience.
3 years or more in NVH development.
Experience with Statistical Energy Analysis, LMS, B&K, HEAD and microphones.
