Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a physician, performs a variety of clinical activities across the continuum of care to the critically injured. Functions collaboratively with other members of the health care team to implement the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, manager, and researcher within the area of trauma or general surgery. Possesses a high degree of knowledge, skill, and competency in the provision of trauma care directly to the patient, family, or indirectly through guidance of care by other nursing personnel.
Job Requirements:
Education: Successful graduation from a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant.
Experience: 1-2 years as a physician Assistant
Licensure: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and certification as a Physician Assistant by the State of Michigan.
Skills: Effective written and oral communication skills. Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients in situations requiring sensitivity and tact. Demonstrates strong health assessment skills.
